The Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University (SUNY) seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Assistant Dean for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The Assistant Dean is the principal architect of the strategy that ensures the college meets its DEI Vision: to establish an equity-minded STEM community that challenges and eliminates exclusionary systems and practices and promotes innovation and academic success for all students, faculty and staff.
The Assistant Dean serves as a strong advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the college and must be a trusted and responsive subject matter expert. They are a critical source of leadership and support for faculty, staff, college leadership, and undergraduate and graduate students. The Assistant Dean oversees the Watson Office for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, which provides support to students, faculty, and staff from across the college.
The Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science is strongly committed to cultivating and sustaining an educational and employment environment that is diverse in race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, interests, abilities and perspectives. We value diversity as a strength critical to our educational mission and expect every member of our community to contribute to an inclusive and respectful culture for all. We are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive teaching, research, and working environment. Potential applicants who share our goals, especially underrepresented minorities, women, and persons with disabilities, who have a demonstrated track record of achievement and success, are strongly encouraged to apply.
