University at Buffalo Distinguished Research Fellowship Program (DRFP)

Categories: Post-Doc/Fellowship

Date: 7/1/2023

The program is designed to develop a robust pipeline of potential URM faculty members. The SEAS-DRFP will target URM PhD graduates for postdoctoral experience and training, with the goal of transitioning the most promising candidates to tenure-track faculty positions in SEAS.

Each fellow is allocated $100K
o $80K/year for salary
o $20K for moving, immigration, research travel, and computer costs

UB SEAS Dean Dr. Kemper Lewis has created five one-year Fellowship positions. The SEAS-DRFP will support candidates with strong academic track records and demonstrated potential to be successful faculty members.

Preference will be given to individuals who are recent graduates or those with a few years of post-graduate work and strong academic credentials, in areas that have the potential to add to and complement the school’s current research and teaching portfolio.

Fellows will each work with at least one SEAS faculty member in an apprenticeship model, where participants are partnered with seasoned faculty members. This will give Fellows first-hand experience in coordinating research programs, guiding/mentoring graduate students, and writing proposals. Fellows will also conduct seminars and play active roles in departments.

If interested, send a CV to UBSTEM@buffalo.edu and we will follow up with additional information.
