The Solar Energy Innovators Program is seeking applicants interested in researching innovative solutions to the challenges faced by utilities, energy service providers, and public utilities commissions (PUCs) to adapt to a system with increasing levels of solar and other distributed energy resources. Innovators selected for the program conduct hands-on, practical research and development on-site at a utility, energy service provider, or PUC host institution. The Solar Energy Innovators Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy (EERE), Solar Energy Technology Office (SETO).

    Benefits
  • Yearly stipend: $40,000 - $70,000+ (based on academic level)
  • Research/travel allowance: $10,000
  • Health insurance allowance
  • Relocation allowance: up to $5,000, if eligible

    Applicants Must
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Be 18 years old
  • Have earned a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in past 3 years
