Kavli Institute Seeks Science Program Officer in Physical Sciences
Categories: Employment
Date: 6/1/2021
The ideal candidate is mid-career with a strong science background in the physical sciences (theoretical physics, astrophysics and nanoscience) and a good understanding of academia. Please refer to the job posting link for details.
The Kavli Foundation is located in Los Angeles and is comprised of 25 employees that is led by its new President, Cynthia Friend, an NAS member and former Chair of the Harvard Chemistry Department. The Science Team comprises 7 people (5 with PhDs). The Science Program Officers develop programs to advance science in the Kavli areas (astrophysics, theoretical physics, nanoscience and neuroscience), including the oversight of our 20 endowed Kavli Institutes. In addition, the Foundation has smaller programs in Science and Society and the Kavli Prize. I can say firsthand it is a stimulating and welcoming place to work — and LA is great place to live. The pay scale will be attractive too.
For the right person this is a great opportunity. Anyone who is interested could contact Michael Moloney (mmoloney@aip.org) for an intro to the Kavli team or directly contact the Director of Physics Sciences, Chris Martin (cmartin@kavlifoundation.org).
