SEA Change Institute: Building Gender Equity in the Academy
Categories: Professional Development, Faculty
Date: 2/1/2021
We are excited to share a new course presented by the SEA Change Institute:
Building Gender Equity in the Academy
. The four-part learning series, designed and facilitated by Ann Austin and Sandra Laursen, draws directly from their recent book,
Building Gender Equity in the Academy: Institutional Strategies for Change
, which outlines concrete, research-based approaches to creating more equitable and inclusive institutions of higher education.
The Building Gender Equity in the Academy series will focus on developing a systemic approach to diversifying STEM faculty, staff, and leadership. Drs. Laursen and Austin will guide participants through discussions of the successful work being done by colleges and universities around the country. This learning series is designed for current and emerging change leaders, and teams of 3-4 individuals are encouraged to participate as a group. Participants in the series will learn how to select and apply tested strategies for gender equity within the context of their institution.
The price per seat for the Building Gender Equity learning series is $100 and includes admission to all four sessions. The schedule for the four-part series will be as follows:
1.
