At the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) embracing diversity and a culture of inclusion in our workplace is a core value. Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is not only in our words but in our commitment to action. Therefore, we are announcing a newly created Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion role which will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and will be responsible for the National Academies’ inaugural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) function.

In this role the selected Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of the overall DEI strategy and initiatives across the organization. They will interact with the Senior Executives, Division Leaders and employee groups to facilitate and prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion in how the National Academies culture is experienced. One staff member will report to you, with others having a matrixed reporting relationship.

The Director will partner with unit leaders and HR to develop and implement diversity and inclusion strategies, programs and policies that successfully attract, retain, and develop a diverse workforce. In this role you will also determine how to measure progress in maturing diversity and inclusion at the National Academies.
