KY-WV LSAMP 12th Annual Research Symposium

Categories: Meetings and Conferences

Date: 2/28/2020 - 2/29/2020

Location: Kentucky State University Frankfort, KY

Online registration for the KY-WV LSAMP 12th Annual Research Symposium is now open. The symposium will be February 28-29, 2020, at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, KY.

You must be an LSAMP or invited scholar/staff to attend Friday sessions and/or present on Saturday, but everyone is invited to attend Saturday sessions.

Registration: The registration deadline is Friday, January 31, 2020.

Presentation: LSAMP Scholars wishing to present must email their abstract (in the format provided on the website) to Raúl Torres (raul.torres@uky.edu) by Friday, January 31, 2020.

Lodging: KY-WV LSAMP Scholars who need lodging should inform their campus coordinator. KY-WV LSAMP Campus Coordinators should send a list of those who need lodging to Fara and Raúl. Others who need lodging can call the Capital Plaza Hotel (502-227-5100) and use the group name “KY-WV LSAMP” when reserving rooms.

Recruitment Tables:Recruitment tables will be scheduled to run congruently with the Scholar poster research presentations. This will allow upwards of 2 hours for recruiters to interact with students, all of which have interest in attending graduate school. There are 10 institutions (including two community colleges) with approximately 300 participants in the alliance. Last year, 94 undergraduate and 43 high school students attended Saturday sessions. Recruiters are also invited to attend all of the Saturday sessions including the keynote address and luncheon and interact with students as well as faculty and staff throughout the day. Departments, organizations, and companies interested in hosting a recruitment table should contact Raúl Torres (raul.torres@uky.edu).
