About the Event

LSMRCE is pleased to partner with Eaton Corporation to host a career development event on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Eaton North American Headquarters in Cleveland (Beachwood). The event will include speakers, interactive workshops, catered lunch, and a student poster session.

Registration

This event is open to NSF LSAMP and LSMRCE Partners' undergraduate students, graduate students, and program personnel. Contact Deb Cole at cole22@iupui.edu with any eligibility questions.

All participants must register for this event.
Pre-registration is required by the Eaton security office and no walk-ins can be accepted.
Registration closes on April 1, 2023.

Poster Abstract Submission

Students who have conducted STEM research are invited to submit a poster abstract for presentation at the Eaton event. A limited number of presentation spots are available. Invited presenters automatically receive a travel award including 1 night hotel. Top posters win cool tech gear.

The abstract submission deadline is April 1, 2023.

Travel Awards

LSMRCE has funds to reimburse up to $500 in out-of-pocket travel expenses. To receive travel support, indicate your needs on the registration form and someone will be in touch.

Expenses can include airfare, car rental (and gas), mileage (if you drive your car), per diem, parking, etc. All flights and rentals need to be basic. No upgrades allowed. In addition, LSMRCE can pre-purchase flights. Travelers must be traveling 200 miles or greater to be eligible for flight reimbursement or pre-pay.

Travel for LSAMP alliance groups

Alliance administrators can work with Deb Cole at cole22@iupui.edu to arrange coach transportation for their alliance scholars and representatives. Reach out before April 1, 2023!

Parking

Parking is available for free in the garage adjacent to the Eaton building. At the time of arrival, check-in at the Eaton security booth. Security will confirm your admittance and provide further instructions.

Lodging

LSMRCE will be booking hotel rooms at a hotel near the Eaton Headquarters for Thursday, April 13. If you would like a room reserved for you, please indicate that on the registration form.
