About the events

LSMRCE is pleased to partner with Eaton Corporation, a leader in power management technologies, to host several career development events for undergraduate and graduate STEM students across the country.

Each event will be unique and feature the different Eaton facilities, such as R&D laboratories and innovation centers. The event agendas have been developed in collaboration with the local LSAMP alliance to meet the professionalization needs of their scholars. This event is organized and hosted by the Eaton iConnect employee group.

In February 2020, the National Science Foundation awarded the Louis Stokes Midwest Regional Center of Excellence (LSMRCE) a $235 thousand supplemental grant to support the non-academic professionalization of under-represented minority students majoring in STEM. In partnership with Eaton Corporation and the iCONNECT Eaton affinity groups, LSMRCE will use the supplemental grant to organize six Eaton Experience events at Eaton Innovation Centers across the country for the students from the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) and LSMRCE Partner Schools.

Eaton Student Experience event held at the Eaton North American Headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, February 21, 2020.

  • Learn more about Eaton as an organization
  • Opportunity to engage with Eaton scientists and employees

Who should attend?

This event is for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in STEM who are interested in learning about career pathways in the power management industry in corporate America. This event is open to scholars of the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) programs, including partners of the Louis Stokes Midwest Regional Center of Excellence (LSMRCE). In addition, we encourage higher education institutions local to the Eaton facility to inquire on space availability.

EATON event dates

We are actively planning four events that will take place 2020-2022 at Eaton facilities across the US.
Target cities include:
  • Denver, CO
  • Houston, TX
  • Pinehurst, NC
  • Pittsburgh, PA

Our hope is that we can offer a hybrid experience, so that Alliances near the hosting Eaton facility can travel and attend the event in-person. More information will be forthcoming!
