Date: 8/1/2021
The Pediatric Coping and Language Lab (PCL) at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to start as early as summer 2021. The postdoctoral fellow will work on an NIH-funded randomized controlled trial to test the effects of a family-based behavioral intervention for Latinx families of children with asthma. The primary activities of the postdoctoral fellow will be training and providing supervision to the community health workers who deliver the intervention, intervention fidelity monitoring and coding, data analysis, and dissemination of findings. Mentorship will be provided for manuscript preparation, grant writing, and the development of an independent program of research. The PCL lab (http://sites.edb.utexas.edu/pcllab/), directed by Dr. Erin RodrĂguez, studies the role of family and sociocultural processes in children’s psychosocial and health outcomes, with a focus on understanding and reducing health disparities affecting low-SES Latinx youth. Our lab is housed within the interdisciplinary College of Education (https://education.utexas.edu/) at the University of Texas at Austin, and collaborates with research teams across the campus, including in medicine, nursing, social work, and communication sciences. The postdoctoral fellow will also work closely with faculty collaborators on the project with expertise in implementation science, including Dr. Sarah Kate Bearman, director of the LEAP lab (https://sites.edb.utexas.edu/leap/) at UT Austin.
