The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking applicants for an entry level Electrical Engineer to provide design and system engineering within a group reporting to the Design Engineering Department Manager.
INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel design, development and fabrication through post irradiated analysis.
The electrical engineer applies engineering knowledge, practice and techniques to solve applied and operational problems with facility electrical systems (including MCC equipment, motors, motor controls, variable frequency drives, communications, fire alarm systems and HVAC control systems used for research applications), and in the areas of R&D for Nuclear Programs, National and Homeland Security, and Energy and Environment. You must be able to apply sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices in a broad array of assignments related to electrical systems. You will perform design of electrical equipment and systems, assist in developing and reviewing potential electrical projects, and oversee engineering support during electrical project implementations.
